Chef Takashi Yagihashi, James Beard Award winner and Food & Wine Best New Chef, has built a celebrated career spanning more than 35 years, blending French, Japanese, and American influences into an elegant and distinctive style. Born in Mito, Japan, and based in Chicago, he has helmed acclaimed restaurants including Tribute in Detroit, Okada at Wynn Las Vegas, Michelin-starred Takashi, and Slurping Turtle, while also launching the popular Tabo Sushi and Tabo Noodles concepts. A fan-favorite on Top Chef Masters and competitor on Iron Chef, Yagihashi has been recognized by Esquire, Bon Appétit, and the New York Times for his inventive approach to flavor and hospitality. Most recently, he partnered with Jonathan Fox to open Kasumi in Boca Raton, bringing refined Japanese dining to South Florida and further cementing his reputation as one of America’s most dynamic chefs.
