Mia Crusto started her career in hospitality in her mother’s kitchen. Her mother, a New Orleans native, was a classic example of Southern Hospitality and had Mia carrying bowls of gumbo to dinner party guests as soon as she was old enough to walk. After graduating from Vanderbilt University, Mia moved to Chicago and began working as a marketing intern for Tzar Night Club. From there, she worked her way up through the ranks of being a door host, bottle server, bartender, and finally manager. She has worked at various locations around the city of Chicago including Sound Bar Nightclub, Bevy Nightclub, Havana Pan-Latin Restaurant, the Langham Hotel (opening team), and the W Lakeshore’s Current Restaurant (reopening team) as the Bar Manager. She spent the last two years in management for Rockit Ranch Productions at Sunda and Rockit Bar and Grill. In March, she rejoined the man who first hired her as his marketing intern, Nils Westlind, at the newly opened Ronero in the West Loop as Bar and Service Manager. She is an avid rum enthusiast and could not be happier to be working at one of the city’s only rum bars.
