Emily Fiffer: Emily spent seven years as an editor for DailyCandy before deciding that healthful, vegetable-centric cooking was what she wanted to think about – all day, every day. Botanica – an ambitious, devoutly farmers-market-driven, all-day restaurant in Silver Lake, Los Angeles – was the result, along with BotanicaMag.com, the restaurant’s recipe-focused publishing project.
Heather Sperling: After a decade as a food writer/editor, Heather went from documenting to doing. The result, Botanica, is devoted to vegetables, natural wine and good times, and founded on two fundamental beliefs: that community, sustainability, health and happiness are the pillars of hospitality; and that healthful cooking can be vibrant, creative, wildly satisfying and fun.
