Born and raised on the East Coast, Bob Begandy found himself in Chicago by way of film school. After graduating from Columbia College for cinematography he realized he had a growing passion for food and beverage. Dabbling with home brewing and discovering new places to eat in a diverse city was becoming more than a hobby. Wearing many hats throughout his years after school, Bob helped open Dusek's Board and Beer as a door guy. Moving his was up through the ranks rapidly he became part of the bar management team after just one year at his first restaurant job. Now Bob spends his days as the Beverage Director of the Thalia Hall property located in the Pilsen neighborhood. A building with it all: amazing beer, delicious punch and cocktails, and a piano bar to howl at the moon in.
