Weber Grill Restaurant


Jason’s culinary career began at the young age of thirteen when he took his first summer job scooping ice cream. He attended Michigan State University where he studied Mathematics while also working at local restaurants and bars. After realizing that cooking was his true passion he enrolled in culinary school at Oakland Community College outside of Detroit. After just one day of culinary school, Jason knew without a doubt that he wanted to be a chef.

Upon completion of culinary school, Jason worked for seven years in Bloomington Hills, MI at a high-end country club and moved his way up to Sous Chef. After three years, he relocated to Chicago, Ill. and worked at many prestigious downtown restaurants including Petterino’s, Flemings, and Shikago before starting at Weber Grill in 2008.

He joined the Weber Grill team as the Sous Chef at the Schaumburg location, and shortly after became the Executive Sous Chef at the Lombard location. In 2011, he was promoted to Executive Chef of the Schaumburg restaurant and then went on to be the Executive Chef at the Lombard and Indianapolis Weber Grill locations. In July of 2014, Jason transferred to his current position, the Executive Chef at the River North restaurant. Jason is proud to be the only chef in the company that has been Executive Chef of four different Weber Grill locations.

Jason has always been a dedicated griller, so joining Weber Grill was a natural decision. His childhood memories include family grilling on the back deck in the summertime, and on their indoor kitchen grill during the winter months. Jason appreciates being part of a Chicago-based company and loves the family feel that Weber Grill restaurants provides.

“Cooking on Weber kettles makes our food very Chicago,” explains Jason. He believes the menu speaks to everyone from tourists to locals, families and business professionals. Jason is most proud of the ribs and brisket on the menu because they are not only prepared daily, but are a consistent quality product that taste great.

When he’s not in the kitchen, Jason spends his time with his wife and dogs, and enjoys home brewing, golfing, dining out and grilling. He loves cooking for family and friends whenever he can, and nothing makes him happier than cooking a great meal.
