A New York native, John McGowan acquired his affinity for cooking at the young age of 8. In 1992, John became a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. It was during his education there, that he developed a love for seafood. He built his career with positions in Aspen, Seattle and New York City, where John worked with James Beard Winner, Larry Forgione. Now Executive Chef at Devon Seafood + Steaks in Oakbrook, John believes in using simple cooking techniques, highlighting the inherent perfection of seasonal ingredients.
