Chef David Schwartz is the Executive Chef of Formento’s, where he brings a thoughtful, ingredient-driven approach to the restaurant’s Italian-American menu. David first joined the Formento’s kitchen in 2020 and has continued to grow with the restaurant, developing a deep connection to its food, team, and West Loop neighborhood.
His cooking is rooted in familiar flavors, seasonal ingredients, and dishes that feel both refined and approachable. Whether reworking a classic or creating something new, David focuses on food that feels generous, intentional, and true to the spirit of Formento’s.
Now leading the kitchen as Executive Chef, David continues to build on the restaurant’s foundation while bringing his own perspective to the menu and creating an experience that feels welcoming, memorable, and distinctly Formento’s.
