MH Fish House
Market House on the Square and MH Fish are pleased to announce Michael Tsonton is joining our team as Executive Chef. Michael is a Chicago restaurant veteran with experience in local hotels, clubs and fine dining establishments. Mr. Tsonton has received numerous accolades nationally and locally, including a three-star review from the Chicago Tribune for his restaurant Copperblue. When asked what attracted him to the position Michael responded, “It’s a phenomenal property, and great space. Overlooking Market Square in downtown Lake Forest it’s a wonderful place for a restaurant. I also loved the philosophy of the place, with two restaurants; they give me plenty of opportunity to use my creativity in a variety of ways.”
Market House on the Square opened in May 2012 reclaiming the space held by South Gate Café. With a complete overhaul the Market House quickly became a sought after Northshore dining establishment. Featuring “craved” American classics including Pot Roast, Roasted Chicken and Beef Stroganoff paired with creative salads, interesting appetizers and attentive service the Market House has become one the Chicago’s Northern Suburbs most popular restaurants garnering consistent 4+ stars from Opentable Dinners.
MH Fish House, the sister restaurant was opened in January 2013 featuring seafood, oysters and a creative wine list in an upscale format. Situated on the second floor overlooking historic Market Square MH Fish quickly became a destination restaurant. Featuring an open kitchen the restaurant blends a fine dining experience with an informal setting and approachable food. An always-changing menu consistent with in season fish choices includes fresh Dover sole, olive oil poached tuna, oysters Rockefellers, octopus along with a variety of non-seafood options and unique salads.
Look for Michael’s deft touch to start appearing quickly on the menus of both restaurants. His experience lends itself well to the menus of both kitchens. Further, he brings a fresh set of ideas and techniques to further advance the quality and diversity our menus. Not one for resting on laurels, we vow to continue to push the envelope of dining; bringing you American Classics, done “better than you remember” and great, fresh seafood.
