Matt Goodman



Chef Matt Goodman, originally from Carol Stream, IL, began his culinary career at Johnson & Wales University in Miami, Florida. He returned to Chicago in 2006 and worked his way up from line cook to sous chef at Stir Crazy and also played an instrumental role in helping the brand expand with new locations. In 2009, Chef Goodman moved to Philadelphia to be the Sous Chef at Azie, a Japanese restaurant offering contemporary, inventive Asian Fusion dishes. It was at Azie that he honed in on his culinary skills working with renowned Japanese Chef Takao Iinuma.

In 2012, Chef Goodman returned to Chicago where he worked for a renowned Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine restaurant, starting as a sous chef and quickly becoming head chef partner. After four years, Goodman traveled to Asia to further embrace the Asian cuisine culture. Once he returned to Chicago, he opened Imperial Lamian in River North followed by joining the opening culinary team at LondonHouse. In September 2016, Matt Goodman became the Executive Chef of Mahalo, Parker Restaurant Group’s newly opened Modern Hawaiian Kitchen located in Wicker Park.
