The Duck Inn
For Brandon Phillips, the journey to becoming a prominent Chicago barman began only a few years ago, as an apprentice at the now defunct Chicago legend, The Drawing Room. After a year of tireless work, at the aforementioned Drawing Room, Phillips earned his coat and the title of Master Bartender. Just a year later, he was tapped by Chef Kevin Hickey to open Bottlefork, a bar/restaurant that, almost immediately, was heralded as having some of the most innovative cocktails in the city. Recently, Phillips & Hickey opened Bridgeport’s The Duck Inn, which has been listed as one of the 10 hottest bars in Chicago every month since it’s opening. He has since gone on to represent the USA in the Global Beefeater MIXLDN Competition in London, where he managed to defeat 29 other countries and bring the championship back home to Chicago.
