    Members enjoy discounts on the required city and state ServSafe Sanitation Classes and Alcohol Awareness Classes provided by the IRA year-round in both English and Spanish. Training manuals and products are available at special rates for members, as well we posters and signage required to comply with regulations are available to members either free of charge or for a reduced rate.     Through the IRA Endorsed Program, suppliers to the foodservice industry offer valuable members-only savings on everyday expenses. Members also enjoy special discounts on services through the Member Discount Program.

    The Dining Guide is an online resource featuring only IRA members, and is geared for Illinois diners looking for either a particular city or type of cuisine. The free listing in the IRA Dining Guide provides excellent exposure and potential new foot traffic.

    Members stay current on association and industry happenings though Seasonings®, IRA's newsletter, and the members-only weekly President's Report. In addition, through the dual membership benefit, members receive the National Restaurant Association’s Washington Weekly.

    Registered lobbyists work to protect and promote views and legislation in the best interest of the Illinois food service industry at the national, state and local levels of government. Members are invited to the annual Public Affairs Conferences and Lobby Day consisting of legislative and regulatory briefings with key government officials and representatives in Washington DC and Springfield.  Also, members can participate in the Grassroots Program that coordinates a statewide or local industry response to proposed laws and regulations so operators speak with one voice on issues that impact the industry's business climate.

  • ProStart Programming and Scholarships through the IRA Educational Foundation
    The IRA Educational Foundation serves the hospitality industry’s growing labor challenge by creating and operating workforce development programs focused on generating career and job opportunities for the youth of Illinois, while providing a skilled labor force for our industry. The Foundation manages the ProStart Schools to Careers Program, scholarships, career mentors, job shadowing, internship opportunities, field trips, workshops and guest speakers for students.
